Programming Operations


Are you an event-gelical who knows how to have fun? If so, the Programming Operations Team has the following openings:
 
  • Event Planning - Membership (2 volunteers)
    The events planned under this umbrella will be mostly social in nature (ie. membership recruitment events like the Marketing Mixers). Work directly with membership to create environments suitable for the recruitment of new members and exciting to go to (trendy venue selection plays a key role in this – Marketers, as you know, love to be at the hottest spots whenever possible)

  • Event Planning - Special Interest Groups (4 -6 volunteers)
    The events logistics team for Special Interest Groups (SIGs) will support monthly seminar/educational programs with networking built in. Members of this team will identify, negotiate and book venue locations to host events to the requirements of the SIG and also manage event logistics before and during the event. (ie. Food/Bev, room layout, AV requirements, etc).

    Qualifications: Active membership in the Chicago AMA (required).

  • Anatomy of a Marketing Plan Steering Committee
    Responsible for guiding the strategic direction of a profitable and valuable program targeted to the Midwestern marketing community.

    The Steering Committee is responsible for:
    • Creation of the strategic direction of the Anatomy of a Marketing Plan event
    • Identification and recruitment of C-level speakers
    • Extension of the Anatomy of a Marketing Plan brand through a strategic and targeted communications plan
    • Creation of a sponsorship plan to generate revenue and add value to event attendees
    Commitment is for 12 months starting on or before August 1, 2010 and is a perfect stepping stone to become a leader within the Chicago American Marketing Association. The Anatomy of a Marketing Plan Steering Committee reports directly to the Director, Anatomy of a Marketing Plan.

    Qualifications: Active membership in the Chicago AMA (required); communication skills, project/event management ability, passion for strategic thinking and planning, and a roll-up your sleeves, can-do attitude.

Membership


Do you enjoy interacting with new and different people? If you do, then the Membership Team has the following openings:
  • Orientation Leaders (2-3 volunteers)
  • Event Ambassadors (5-10 volunteers)
  • Member Relations (4-8 volunteers)

Communications


Are you good at persuading and motivating people with clever messaging? If so, the Communications Team has the following openings:
  • Webslingers: website updates
  • Digital: emails, mobile
  • G-Unit: graphic artists
  • Blog Squad: writers, content drivers
  • Film Crew: video & photographers
  • The Buzz Team: social media
The Comm Team will assign at least 4 volunteers per team so that responsibilities are rotated each week allowing everyone a real opportunity to participate and lead the team at least once per month. At the end of three month’s we will assess roles and determine who/what is working and who/what is not working.

We will put a call out for new volunteers every quarter so as to not burn anyone out and allow for leadership rotation.
