Thank you for your interest in serving on the Board of Directors for Chicago AMA.  Please feel free to indicate if you are personally interested in serving, or if you would like to recommend another member(s). Only Chicago AMA members are eligible to serve on this Board. We constantly strive to bring the diversity of our Chapter’s membership to Board representation and will take every nomination into consideration.

Being a Chicago AMA Board member is a great honor.  Chicago is the largest Chapter within AMA’s international network with over 1,000+ leading marketers and members.  It is imperative that every Board member has the commitment and availability to attend and participate in the events that the Chicago chapter conducts during their term of office which spans from 1 April to 30 June of each year.

Attendance Required

All Board Members:
  • Transition meetings and Spring/Summer 2012 planning retreat
  • Monthly Board of Directors meetings
  • Monthly Committee meetings (for select Officer positions)
President, President- Elect, Past President, Secretary & Treasurer only:
  • Bimonthly Financial Standing Committee meetings, in addition to above

Attendance Strongly Encouraged

Board Roles by Divisional Group

CAMA has a variety of roles that may become available within several different divisions of the Chapter.  Board Members will be selected from both our current roster, as well as those who might be nominated for a role. 
 
Secretary/Chapter Excellence – Maintains all Chapter records. Serves as liaison with AMA International Headquarters.
 
Treasurer – Maintains all financial records and provides reports. Serves as liaison with accounting firm. Required attendance at all revenue-generating events. Serves on Financial Committee.
 
Membership – Group identifies and cultivates new members while retaining existing members. Supported by a Committee, and will require monthly meetings. Special initiatives are planned throughout the year around acquisition & retention efforts.
 
Communications – Group plans and manages all Communications efforts for the Chapter including weekly emails, Social Media efforts, blog, videos, special event or membership announcements.  Supported by a Committee, and will require monthly meetings.
 
Programming – Plans the Chapters various events which can include up to ten (10) events a year including speaker luncheons, breakfast and half/day afternoon seminars.  Role involves event theme development, speaker recruitment and general content guiding in collaboration with Communications.  Supported by a Committee, and will require monthly meetings.   
 
Special Interest Groups – Serves as liaison with the Chicago AMA member-driven Special Interest Groups.  Helps guide Chairs on available resources available via CAMA, and manages cross-promotion of content and events with the Chapter at-large.  Participation in up to ten (10) SIG events and quarterly meetings will be required.
 
Strategic Relations – Serves as a liaison with Executive Director, and other functional groups to extend and support visibility of the Chapter within the general community, potential & current sponsors, media, Collegiate network and other like-minded marketing organizations.  Supported by a Committee, and will require monthly meetings.
 
Market Research – Collaborates with Executive Committee members, Membership and Programming on analyzing, developing and interpreting survey data and recommending strategies to better serve the needs of our Membership.
