Chicago AMA Communications Committee
Sara Jean Goodman of the Communications Committee is the recipient of the Chicago chapter’s Most Valuable Volunteer Award for 2011, primarily for her role in leading the committee’s social media team. Under her forty weeks of team leadership her team increased the number of chapter Twitter followers by 33%, Facebook fans by 44%, and LinkedIn group members by 43%.
In the words of her Communications Committee VP Alex Yates,
Sara has coached, advised, prodded, and been the driving force behind consistent and reliable messaging on social platforms. Our voice in both Chicago and the marketing community can be traced directly to Sara's efforts.
Sara should also be recognized for her devotion to the chapter. In addition to supporting the SRO Mobile Marketing event (as well as our flagship Brandsmart event), she has also spent time twice a week every week creating Swarm emails for the Buzz Team. This time-intensive consistency is a significant factor why our chapter's profile has regained its luster leading to solid event turnout, membership rebounds, and an ever growing Klout score ...
Sara commented that the Chicago AMA gave her a tremendous opportunity to learn a vital new skill such as social media execution, almost from scratch, outside of her day job. She appreciates being able to build her skills base, and her resume, through volunteering for the chapter.
For her efforts the Chapter provided Sara with a $100 restaurant gift certificate.
